College Standard Magazine v. Student Association of the State University of New York at Albany

Summary

A couple dozen students at SUNY Albany formed a newspaper called College Standard Magazine, and applied for $350 in funding from the Student Association (SA). The SA denied the request, pursuant to its power to deny funding for any reason, including the popularity of the group with students. An ADF allied attorney filed suit on behalf of the group. The SA changed its policy during the litigation and the Court of Appeals determined that the case was moot.
