Kansas Board of Regents (Social Media Speech Code)

Summary

In 2014, the Kansas Board of Regents, which governs several public universities in Kansas, passed a speech code regulating what professors could say on social media. ADF sent an information letter to the Board, advising it on how it could modify the policy to avoid encroaching on First Amendment rights of professors. The University subsequently amended its speech code to address many of the concerns raised by ADF.
