Sheldon v. Dhillon

Summary

In 2007, an adjunct professor of biology at San Jose City College was asked a question in her Human Heredity course about homosexual behavior. She responded that the issue was complex and gave examples of answers from the textbook and a well-known German scientist. Another student later filed a complaint, stating that her comments were “offensive and unscientific,” and the College responded by terminating the professor. ADF filed a lawsuit and the College subsequently settled the case for $100,000.
