Student at Santa Rosa Junior College

Summary

In 2009 a student at Santa Rosa Junior College contacted ADF for assistance. The student had been selected to speak at graduation but, when she submitted her draft for review, the vice president of Student Affairs instructed her to remove a paragraph about faith, based on a college policy that prohibited the inclusion of religion in speeches. ADF advised the student on how to modify her speech to make it clear that she was sharing her personal views. The student did not report any further issues.
