Summary

In 2012, a student club at Western Piedmont Community College submitted advertisements regarding their Christmas tree sale to be placed on the college website and school marquee. The college changed references to “Christmas trees” to “holiday trees” due to a decision by a school official that Christmas was a Christian-only event. In response to an ADF demand letter “Christmas” returned to the College along with the group’s free speech rights.
