Christian Fellowship of Shippensburg University v. Ruud

Summary

In 2007, the Student Senate at Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania rejected Christian Fellowship’s application to obtain recognized status because it objected to its faith standards for leaders and members. ADF filed a lawsuit, and the University revised several policies in order to protect the First Amendment rights of students and the freedom of religious groups to retain faith-based requirements for officers and members.
