Freshman Leaders in Christ at Texas A&M

Summary

Texas A&M University demanded that FLiC, a Christian discipleship student group, change its membership criteria to comport with the University’s “open membership policy.” The University further told the grou that it would lose its recognition status if it did not eliminate its faith standards. ADF sent a demand letter requesting an exemption from the policy, and the University’s general counsel subsequently confirmed that FLiC would be a recognized student organization, and would be allowed to retain faith-based qualifications for members and leaders.
