KU Students For Life

Summary

When KU Students for Life at the University of Kansas sought to reserve campus space to host the Justice For All (JFA) pro-life exhibit in 2008, the group quickly found all free speech was not equal in the eyes of University administrators. The University indicated it would likely deny the request to use Strong Hall Lawn, the primary location for free speech activities, and would instead relocate the event to a less visible area of campus because of the content of the display. ADF sent a demand letter explaining that access to facilities must be granted on a viewpoint neutral basis, and University officials subsequently decided to allow KU Students for Life to use Strong Hall Lawn for the exhibit.
