Parks v. Virginia Community College System

Summary

During the 2013-14 school year, a student at Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, Virginia was told that he could not preach on campus without being part of a student organization and even then without first getting permission. The student handbook stated that all demonstrations on campus need to be previously registered, and failure to comply was cause for suspension or dismissal. ADF filed suit against the Virginia Community College System. The community college system settled the case, revising the challenged policy.
