Pursley v. Pennsylvania State University

Summary

In 2007, a Pennsylvania State alumnus tried to purchase a brick for the University’s Alumni Walk, but was denied the right to include a Scripture passage on his brick, based on a policy that discriminatory or “inappropriate” messages alluding to religion are prohibited. After ADF filed a lawsuit, the University settled and agreed to allow a Scripture passage on the brick.
